The Second Western District Military Court sentenced a 58-year-old resident of the Nizhny Novgorod region to 12 years in prison in a case of 'terrorism', reported the Volga Transport Prosecutor's Office. He will spend the first three years in prison, and the remaining term in a high-security colony.
According to the prosecutor's office, the accused was 'opposed to the foreign policy of the Russian Federation related to the conduct of a special military operation', and because of this, in June 2024, he set fire to relay cabinets located in the Nizhny Novgorod region on the section between the Zholnino and Dzerzhinsk stations of the Gorky Railway.
The website of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Transport Department for the Volga Federal District states that the amount of damage amounted to almost 100 thousand rubles.
