A year ago, she was already sentenced under milder articles, the prosecution and defense filed an appeal, the court returned the case to the investigation, and the articles were toughened

The Sevastopol City Court sentenced a 39-year-old local resident to 13 years and 3 months in a general regime penal colony in a case involving pro-Ukrainian inscriptions and cooperation with foreign intelligence services, the local prosecutor's office reported. The woman was found guilty of treason and vandalism motivated by political hatred. In addition to the actual term, she was given a restriction of freedom for one and a half years.

According to the investigation, from April to November 2023, she collected information on the movements of Russian warships and aviation, as well as the deployment of military forces in annexed Sevastopol. This data was allegedly transmitted by the woman through messengers to Ukrainian intelligence services.

In addition, she was accused of making inscriptions with insults against Vladimir Putin and in support of the Ukrainian armed forces, which she left on benches and other landscaping objects in the local park.

As "Mediazona"* learned, it concerns Ksenia Svetlishina, who had already been tried in this case in 2024, sentenced to 5 years and three months in a colony. At the first trial, she was charged with less severe articles and there was no accusation of treason.

In February of this year, the Third Appellate Court upheld the sentence, but the prosecutor and defense appealed the decision in cassation. As a result, the cassation court overturned the sentence and returned the case to the prosecutor. After this, the charge of "confidential cooperation" was replaced with "treason" and the term was increased by eight years.
