On the morning of October 24, an employee of the Investigative Committee, FSB, and Ministry of Internal Affairs came to the home of the editor-in-chief of ASTRA's mother in the Zasviyazhsky district of Ulyanovsk, the publication itself reported. They checked all personal correspondence and then seized all the equipment from the 61-year-old woman.

The search was conducted as part of a criminal case against Chumakova for military "fakes," which was previously unknown. At the same time, she is charged with point "d" — committing a crime based on political, ideological, racial, national, or religious hatred or enmity, or based on hatred or enmity towards any social group.

Under this charge, she faces up to ten years in prison.

Which specific publication became the reason for the criminal prosecution is unknown. Anastasia's mother was interrogated as a witness. Anastasia has not lived in the apartment where the search was conducted for more than 10 years and is also not registered there.

Previously, the editor-in-chief of ASTRA, Anastasia Chumakova, was fined 35 thousand rubles for failing to report herself as the head of a media outlet recognized as a "foreign agent." ASTRA was recognized as a "foreign agent" in October 2024. Chumakova herself was not included in the Ministry of Justice's register. She currently lives abroad.
