In the first half of this year, 29 teenagers received sentences for "terrorism" and 13 for "sabotage"

Since 2022, courts in Russia and annexed Crimea have handed down sentences to at least 158 teenagers in cases of terrorism and sabotage, calculated by "Verstka"* based on data from the Judicial Department at the Supreme Court. This statistic does not include sentences handed down in the territories of Ukraine occupied by Russia — "DNR", "LNR", and parts of Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions.

Among the terrorism charges for which a teenager aged 14-17 was convicted are terrorism, aiding terrorism, participation in the activities of a terrorist organization, and calls for terrorism.

The number of sentences is increasing every year, with 26 teenagers sentenced to various terms in 2022, 35 in 2023, 41 minors in 2024, and 29 teenagers were convicted in the first six months of this year.

Criminal cases against teenagers on charges of sabotage began in 2023, when one teenager was convicted. New articles were introduced into the Criminal Code on aiding sabotage activities, participation in a sabotage community, and undergoing training for the purpose of committing sabotage.

In 2024, 13 minors were convicted for "sabotage activities". The same number has already been sentenced in the first half of 2025.

Only in September, Rosfinmonitoring added 46 minors to the register of "terrorists and extremists".
