On Monday, HAMAS released the last Israeli hostages held in Gaza. This was a key component of the agreement reached last week between Israel and the Palestinian group, which mediators hope could lead to the end of the two-year war.
The first seven hostages were released at 8 AM.
Matan Angrest, a conscript soldier from Kiryat Bialik, served in the IDF tank unit. On October 7, he was in Kibbutz Nahal Oz, where he and his comrades were caught in a HAMAS attack. All three of his comrades were killed in battle, their bodies taken to Gaza, and Matan was seriously injured and taken captive.
Omri Miran, 46 years old, from Kibbutz Nahal Oz, was kidnapped on October 7 while trying to protect his family. His wife and two young daughters managed to escape.
Guy Gilboa-Dalal, 24 years old, was kidnapped on October 7 from the Nova festival, where he went with his brother Gal. During the attack, the brothers were separated: Gal managed to hide and escape, while Guy was taken to Gaza by the terrorists. Eitan Mor, 24 years old, a resident of Jerusalem, was also kidnapped on October 7 from the Nova festival, where he was on duty as a security guard. Another kidnapped from the festival — pianist Alon Ohel. He tried to hide in a bomb shelter, but HAMAS militants threw grenades at him and then took him captive.
Gali and Ziv Bermans, 28-year-old twin brothers, were kidnapped on October 7 from Kibbutz Kfar Aza. It later became known that two other kidnapped from the same group — Yotam Haim and Alon Shamriz — died when they tried to escape captivity and were mistakenly killed by IDF fire.
Another 13 living hostages were handed over by the terrorist group in the southern Gaza Strip two hours later.
This is Evyatar David, 24 years old, who was kidnapped from the Nova festival. Avinatan Or, 32 years old, kidnapped from the Nova festival with his girlfriend Noa Argamani. Argamani was released from HAMAS captivity in June 2024 as a result of an IDF special operation.
Also kidnapped at the music festival were Rom Braslavsky, 21 years old, Yosef Haim Ohana, 25 years old, Maxim Kharkin, 37 years old, Elkana Buchbut, 36 years old, Segev Kalfon, 27 years old, Bar Kupershtein, 23 years old.
Eitan Horn, 38 years old, was kidnapped from Kibbutz Nir Oz with his brother Yair, who was released as part of a deal with HAMAS in February 2025.
Matan Tsangauker, 25 years old, was kidnapped by terrorists from his home in Kibbutz Nir Oz with his partner Ilana Gritsevsky, who was released as part of the first deal with HAMAS in November 2023.
David Cunio, 35 years old, was kidnapped with his family from his home in Kibbutz Nir Oz. His wife Sharon and their three-year-old daughters Emma and Yuli were released as part of the first deal with HAMAS in November 2023.

Nimrod Cohen, 20 years old, was an IDF soldier and was captured during a battle in the area of Kibbutz Nirim.
As part of the agreement, in response to the release of hostages, Israel released 250 Palestinian prisoners serving life sentences in Israel, and another 1700 Palestinians detained during the war, including women and children.
According to Israel, there were 48 Israeli hostages in Gaza, the last of about 250 people captured during the Hamas attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, which resulted in about 1200 deaths. Under the terms of the ceasefire, HAMAS is obliged to hand over the remains of the deceased hostages. Israel believes that 26 hostages died, and the condition of two other captives is unconfirmed.
HAMAS released the names of four deceased hostages, whose bodies the terrorist group is expected to hand over to the Red Cross today. These are Guy Illuz, Yossi Sharabi, Bipin Joshi, and Daniel Perez.
The fate of Joshi, an agronomy student from Nepal, has not been confirmed by Israel, but the country has expressed «serious concern» about his fate.
Illuz was kidnapped at the Nova festival and died from his wounds in a Gaza hospital, apparently due to lack of medical care. His death was confirmed in December 2023.
22-year-old Perez, a platoon commander of the 77th Battalion of the 7th Armored Brigade from Yad Binyamin, was killed in a battle with Hamas on October 7, 2023.
