The FSB decided that the "fraudsters" were Ukrainian special services and initiated a criminal case under the article on terrorism

The FSB of Russia in Chuvashia initiated a criminal case against a 19-year-old resident of the republic under the article on terrorism, reported "Interfax" with reference to the press release of the special service.

The young man came to the police himself after an unsuccessful attempt to set fire to a substation. The FSB established that the young man "was subjected to remote fraud and recruitment organized by Ukrainian special services for the subsequent commission of a terrorist act".

According to the special service, in August, unnamed "malefactors", posing as employees of "Russian Post", the Central Bank, and law enforcement, convinced the resident of the village of Komsomolskoye to take out loans and transfer 100 thousand rubles to a "safe account".

"Subsequently, under the threat of criminal prosecution allegedly for aiding fraudsters, the victim was forced to set fire to the railway substation in the city of Kanash. At the same time, money was transferred to him for the preparation of the incendiary mixture and the purchase of components," reported the FSB in Chuvashia.

"Due to circumstances beyond the control of the figure, the substation did not catch fire," however, a criminal case on terrorism was initiated.
