Early in the morning on September 26, an explosion occurred on the railway tracks near the Plyussa station in the Pskov region, reported the head of the region, Mikhail Vedernikov, noting that there were no casualties. However, he did not specify the extent of the damage.

This is already the second explosion on the railway since the beginning of the month. On September 13, explosive devices were found during a track inspection in the Oryol region. One of them exploded, resulting in the death of two sappers, and another was injured. The Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) of Ukraine claimed responsibility for the incident. The purpose of the operation, according to the agency, was to disable the Russian railway in the Oryol-Kursk direction.

In the Smolensk region this morning, a truck drove onto the tracks at the Ryzhikovo station and collided with a freight train. The vehicle drove onto the railway crossing in front of the approaching train, the driver applied emergency braking, but the distance was insufficient. As a result, the locomotive and 18 fuel wagons derailed and caught fire. The locomotive crew, the driver, and his assistant were injured and taken to the hospital.
