The French Foreign Ministry released a press release following Yulia Navalnaya's statement that Western countries are refusing to publish the results of Alexei Navalny's post-mortem examination, concealing evidence that he was poisoned.
«France has reviewed with deep concern the conclusions of two Western laboratories, according to which Alexei Navalny may have been poisoned. France reminds that it holds the Russian authorities fully responsible for the death of Alexei Navalny and continues to call for a thorough investigation into the circumstances of his tragic death», — the statement said.
Journalist Dmitry Kolezev** sent a request to the German Foreign Ministry following Navalnaya's statement. «A formal response came, which unfortunately does not contain an answer to any of the questions asked: «Germany takes reports that two analytical laboratories have concluded that Alexei Navalny was poisoned very seriously. We once again emphasize that all responsibility remains with the Russian authorities», — the journalist quoted the response.
On September 17, Yulia Navalnaya reported that in February 2024, the politician's relatives and associates managed to obtain, transfer abroad, and deliver to a laboratory in one of the Western countries biological materials of Alexei Navalny. «A few months ago, I learned that the results were obtained, and already two laboratories in two countries independently concluded that Alexei was poisoned», — Navalnaya said, emphasizing that due to «political reasons» the research results have not yet been disclosed.
Vladimir Kara-Murza** said on the «Dozhd» TV channel that the US FBI, investigating attempts by Russian special services to poison him in 2015 and 2017, classified the documents with the test results and the type of poison used. The politician tried to obtain these documents through an American court, but was denied. According to him, the FBI referred to the US federal law «on national security from 1947, which prohibits the publication of documents that could shed light on the sources and methods of the special services».
«If Western laboratories had published the results, it would have been official confirmation that the Russian Federation under Putin's leadership, contrary to the international convention on the prohibition of chemical weapons, continues to produce and use it. Then they would have to react somehow. Apparently, they do not want to do this», — Kara-Murza explained the West's silence.
