The Nevsky Court of St. Petersburg found 55-year-old Alexander Glushkin guilty under the article on «fakes» about the army and sentenced him to 5 years in a general regime penal colony, as well as a three-year ban on administering websites, reported the correspondent of «SOTAvision»* from the courtroom. The prosecution requested seven years in a penal colony.
The reason for the criminal case was Glushkin's repost on «VK» about the crimes of Russian military in Ukrainian Bucha in April 2022. The man, who worked as a guard at St. Petersburg school No. 443, was reported by Olga Savelyeva, the head of the additional education department.
In court, she said she discovered a user with a Ukrainian flag on the avatar among her «friends», visited Glushkin's page, and saw a post about Bucha, which stated that «Russian soldiers committed atrocities on Ukrainian territory». According to her, the guard «holds a different political position, different from the opinion of the Russian armed forces» and «wanted to destabilize the situation in Russia». In February of last year, the man was fired and then detained on a criminal case under the article on military «fakes».
Glushkin insists that he did not know about the inaccuracy of the information about Bucha, as he completely trusted the social network administration. The man said that during that period he suffered from migraines, which might have prevented him from being aware of his actions.
Glushkin has two minor children.
