A resident of the self-proclaimed LNR was sentenced to 12 years in prison for collecting data on the location of Russian military

The prosecution believes that her "firm stance of rejecting the goals and objectives of the special military operation" was formed after viewing foreign websites

The Supreme Court of the self-proclaimed LNR sentenced 47-year-old resident of the Stanichno-Luhansk district, Irina Zaitseva, to 12 years and 2 months in prison on charges of collecting data for Ukrainian intelligence services, the prosecutor's office reported. She was also given a year of restricted freedom after being released from the colony. Zaitseva was accused of treason.

According to the investigation, in August 2023, Zaitseva began collecting information on the location of Russian military — she transmitted this information through a messenger to representatives of Ukrainian intelligence services, after which she was detained.

The prosecution claims that Zaitseva decided to engage in espionage because "as a result of viewing foreign resources" with information about Russian authorities and military, the LNR resident "formed a firm stance of rejecting the goals and objectives of the special military operation".

The woman was detained in July, she admitted her guilt, expressed remorse for her actions, and entered into a pre-trial cooperation agreement with the prosecutor.
