In the Krasnodar Territory and Samara Region, fires broke out at refinery sites

On the territory of two oil refineries in the Krasnodar Territory and Samara Region, fires occurred on the night of August 28 as a result of attacks by Ukrainian drones.

In the Krasnodar Territory, drones attacked a refinery in the village of Afipsky, reported the regional operational headquarters. According to authorities, one of the refinery's units caught fire due to falling debris, and the fire spread over 20 square meters. In Gelendzhik, a forest fire started due to the attack, covering 200 square meters. Authorities evacuated a recreation base.

Another oil refinery was attacked in the Samara Region. According to ASTRA*, the Kuibyshev Refinery in Samara was affected. A drone also fell near the Kryazh station, causing delays for six passenger and four suburban trains. The Samara Region authorities did not report on the consequences of the drone attacks.

In the Volgograd Region, a technical structure of a locomotive depot in the city of Petrov Val caught fire during the attack, reported Governor Andrey Bocharov.

In the Rostov Region, drone debris fell on the roof of a house in the village of Mankovo-Kalitvenskoye and damaged electrical wiring, wrote Acting Governor Yuri Slyusar. Due to the drone's warhead stuck in the roof, authorities evacuated 89 people living in this and neighboring houses.

The Russian Ministry of Defense stated that air defense forces shot down 102 drones over Russian regions overnight, including 21 in the Rostov and Samara Regions, 18 in the Krasnodar Territory, and two in the Volgograd Region.
