FSB officers detained a 19-year-old resident of the Kirov region, suspected of preparing an arson on the Trans-Siberian Railway, the press service of the department reported.
The security forces claim that the young man joined a "terrorist organization overseen by Ukrainian special services" and, on the orders of a "curator," made "pro-Ukrainian inscriptions" in public places. The young man also planned to set fire to relay cabinets on the Trans-Siberian Railway to block freight transportation "in the interests of the Special Military Operation," according to the FSB release.
According to the special services, the resident of Kirov also intended to go to the combat zone to fight on the side of Ukraine. For this, he was told to come to Moscow, sign a contract with the Ministry of Defense, and then switch to the side of the Armed Forces of Ukraine at the front, the FSB reported. The young man was detained on his way to Moscow. A criminal case was initiated against the young man for treason and attempted participation in a terrorist organization, and the court placed him in custody.
