From March 1, 2026, the flight routes of civilian drones will be transmitted to regulatory authorities every second through the state information system «ERA-Glonass», writes «Vedomosti», having reviewed the draft government decree.
According to the authors of the project, this decision will allow the creation of a unified system for identifying unmanned aerial vehicles based on «ERA-Glonass» for the transparency of technology application and easing existing drone flight restrictions in regions.
According to the proposals of the Ministry of Transport, unmanned aerial systems (UAS) should be integrated into the state automated information system «ERA-Glonass» «for subsequent transmission to authorities and services».
In January of this year, Vladimir Putin demanded to accelerate the development of a regulatory framework for drone identification. The establishment of a separate class for drones and the identification system should create conditions for the further development of civilian unmanned aviation and ensure flight safety, the government noted at the beginning of August.
From August 1, a separate class of airspace — H — was introduced in Russia for drones (primarily established in the airspace at altitudes from 0 to 150 m from the surface).
