Donald Trump announced on his social network Truth Social that he will meet with Putin in Alaska next week. He also suggested that the peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine would include «some territorial exchange».
«We are going to get something back and exchange something», — said Trump, hosting the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan at a peace summit in the White House.
However, the constitution of Ukraine prohibits President Volodymyr Zelensky from ceding any territories.
Vladimir Putin's aide Yuri Ushakov confirmed that the meeting will take place on August 15 in Alaska. According to him, Moscow expects that next time Putin and Trump will meet in Russia.
On Friday, the deadline expired that Trump gave Russia to ceasefire, otherwise he promised to impose additional sanctions on oil exports. However, this did not happen.
