A criminal case for evading the duties of a 'foreign agent' against politician Ilya Yashin has been filed in the judicial district of a magistrate in the North-Western administrative district of Moscow, reported 'Mediazona'*.
In mid-January, law enforcement conducted searches at the politician's parents' home, and it became known that a criminal case was initiated, although the article was not specified.
At the end of January, Yashin was declared wanted, and it became clear that the case was initiated under the article for evading the duties of a 'foreign agent'. Before this, he was repeatedly targeted for the absence of 'foreign agent' labels in posts.
'It is appropriate to remind that the foreign agent law is fascist, pressure on the families of oppositionists is disgusting, and the real foreign agent turning our country into a Chinese gas station is Putin,' Yashin wrote in January.
In 2022, Ilya Yashin was sentenced to 8.5 years in a colony in a case about military 'fakes'. On August 1 of last year, Yashin was released from the colony as a result of a large-scale prisoner exchange between Russia and Western countries.
