Putin stated that he supports the idea of a 30-day truce if Ukraine does not conduct mobilization or receive weapons during this time

At the same time, he added that the proposal for a ceasefire should address the root causes of the "crisis"

Vladimir Putin at a press conference with Alexander Lukashenko commented on the proposal for a 30-day ceasefire in Ukraine. According to him, a truce, considering the counteroffensive of Russian troops in the Kursk region, would be beneficial for Kyiv, noting that he supports the idea, "but there is a nuance."

"In such conditions, it seems to me that for the Ukrainian side it would be very good to achieve a truce for at least 30 days. And we are for it. But there are nuances. <...> What to do with this area in the Kursk region [which is still controlled by the Armed Forces of Ukraine]. If we cease hostilities for 30 days, what does it mean? That everyone who is there will leave without a fight? Should we let them out after they have committed numerous crimes against civilians? How will these 30 days be used? For forced mobilization to continue in Ukraine? For weapons to be supplied there? For the newly mobilized units to undergo training?" — Putin defined the "nuances."

In addition, he noted that the proposal for a ceasefire should lead to long-term peace and eliminate the root causes of the "crisis."

On Thursday evening, Vladimir Putin is scheduled to meet with Trump's envoy Steve Witkoff, the meeting will be held in a closed format.

Separately, Putin noted that he is ready to discuss the possibility of a truce with Trump over the phone.

"If Russia agrees with the USA, then 'it's over' for Ukraine and Europe combined," — summarized Alexander Lukashenko his understanding of the situation.

Donald Trump responded to the statements in Moscow, stating that everything is "going well." "We would like to see a ceasefire from Russia. You know, we weren't working in the dark, we discussed with Ukraine the land, the plots of land that will be preserved and lost, and all other elements of the final agreement. Including the power plant, you know, a very large power plant. Who will get the power plant, who will get this or that? So, you see, it's not a simple process. But the first stage is a ceasefire," said the US president.
