The Ukrainian Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War reported the return of 502 bodies of fallen Ukrainian soldiers.
According to the headquarters, 397 servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine died in the Donetsk direction, 64 in the Zaporizhzhia direction, 24 in the Luhansk direction. Another 17 bodies were returned from Russian morgues.
The Russian side received 48 bodies of fallen servicemen, claims war correspondent Alexander Kots, with no other information from official sources.
The last exchange of bodies between Russia and Ukraine took place on November 8: 563 bodies of fallen soldiers were returned to Ukraine, and 37 bodies of servicemen to Russia.
Since June 2022, such exchanges of bodies have been conducted with the support of the Red Cross mission. Most often, this occurs on the Russian side, at the border with Ukraine's Sumy region.
